Ashdod Desalination Plant
In 2021, Shapir won the tender for the management and
upgrade of the sea-water desalination facility in Ashdod.
The Ashdod Desalination Facility, one of five across Israel, plays a key role, supplying 12% of the nation’s domestic water needs— an impressive 100 million cubic meters in annual capacity. Since August 2022, Shapir has operated the facility continuously, amidst ongoing 18-month construction and enhancement efforts.
Ashdod’s facility stands as a beacon of progress with a staggering maximum capacity of 140 million cubic meters. This dual commitment to both sustainability and innovation underscores a shared vision for a thriving future, encapsulating the essence of resilience and foresight.
